ブータンの観光産業が始まったのは1974年である。それ以来多くの観光客が彼の地の独特な文化に引き寄せられ、そして彼らのもてなしに深く感銘を受けている。ブータンの人々の他者に対する対応は大げさなわけでも必要以上に馴れ馴れしくもなく、とても感じがいい。とても親切で人懐っこく、町を歩いているとバター茶を飲みにおいでよと家へ招待してくれる。子どもたちは外で元気に遊びまわり、犬はあくびをしながら、優しい日差しのもと昼寝をしていた。都会の喧騒とは無縁で、ここでは時間がゆっくりと流れている気がした。そしてこの一連の雰囲気は日頃のストレスから私を解放してくれるのであった。今一度思うことは、間違いなく私はブータンを愛する一人であり、もう一度彼らの笑顔に会いに戻りたいな、ということだった。

Bhutan opened the door to tourism industry in 1974. Tourists are attracted to their unique culture and are deeply moved by their hospitality. Bhutanese attitude toward foreigners isn’t too much, but pleasant. People are friendly and warmly invite the guests into their house for butter tea. Girls and boys are playing cheerfully outside, and dogs are sleeping in the sun. In this place there are no hustle and bustle of the city. Those atmosphere relieved me of stress of daily life.
Undoubtedly I am the one who love Bhutan and am looking forward to seeing their big smiles.
